Totally New Development From Scratch, Fully Tested, Dyno Proven Gains 23HP, 31 Lb-ft. 60 Degree Cooler
Intercooler + Piping + BOV + Silicon Hose + T-Clamp + Bracket
CXRacing Is Proud to Introduce Their New FMIC (Front-Mount Intercooler Kit) For The 2nd Gen MazdaSpeed3. Designed to Replace The Restrictive Factory Top-Mount Intercooler, The New FMIC From CXRacing Offers Improved Flow, Position and Increased Surface Area to Increase Performance, Substantially Reduce Charge Temperatures and Eliminate Heat Soak.
Rather Than Mount The Intercooler Under The Hood Where It Receives Minimal Air Flow (Despite The Hood Scoop) and Is Constantly Surrounded By Engine Heat, The FMIC For The 2nd Gen MazdaSpeed3 From CXRacing Features an Optimum Front-Mount Position to Maximize Exposure to (High-Speed) Ambient Airflow. This Not Only Increases Overall Cooling at Every Boost Level, But Dramatically Reduces Heat Soak.
Extensive Dyno Testing with The Factory Top-Mount Intercooler Revealed That The Charge Temperatures Continued to Escalate with Each Successive Run. The Factory Intercooler Was Simply Not Able to Keep Pace and Suffered From Extreme Heat Soak After Only 3 Consecutive Runs-Charge Temps Increased By Over 40 Degrees! (Imagine What This Situation Would Be Like at an Open-Track Event!) By Contrast, The New FMIC From CXRacing Dramatically Reduced Inlet Charge Temperatures and Maintained That Level of Cooling Run After Run. The Difference In Charge Temperature Between The Stock Intercooler and New FMIC From CXRacing and After 3 Consecutive Runs Was an Over 60 Degrees! The Additional Cooling Improved The Power Output of The 2.3L DISI 2010 MazdaSpeed3 By As Much As 23 hp and 31 lb-ft
Bolt On FMIC Upgrade to Factory Top Mount Intercooler. No Cutting, Welding or Fabricating Necessary
48% Increase In Surface Area (Over The Stock Intercooler) to Maximize Charge Cooling
